LOUISISANA KEY ACADEMY
Start Date: June 2020

Completion Date: July 2020
The newly constructed facade of their building faced one of Mid City's busiest streets, providing an ideal canvas to share Louisiana Key Academy's message about children with dyslexia. During this phase, the academy collaborated with Mid City Alliance to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the space's design. Our proposal, featuring the "Night Light" concept, was selected as the winning design.
The "Night Light" concept aims to amplify the significance of reading and raise awareness about dyslexia on a grand scale. Five children, each over 12 feet tall, are depicted reading books, symbolizing the 1 in 5 children affected by dyslexia. These figures are complemented by oversized books, each standing at over 16 feet tall, showcasing titles used in the academy's curriculum. A highlight of the mural is how the children are positioned under existing lighting, creating a captivating "Night Light" effect after sunset.
